Firstly the obvious huge downturn in commercial business across the whole industry, with over 80% of our own commercial customers having had to close their doors during lockdown. We are not completely sure how long it will carry on for, however one thing is for sure, it will continue to have a large impact on the industry for some months to come even after lockdown is lifted. We all hope that business will return to normal as quickly as possible, but one thing that is becoming very evident is that “normal“ trading will not mean the same as before the lockdown.... peoples daily purchasing habits have been changed by necessity and are likely to stay changed into the future, which will cause a significant shift in buying of coffee for the home coffee lover, new loyalties are being made with online retailers new and old, which has been a positive catalyst for multiple new enquiries from people and businesses looking to capitalise on this trend, which set to stick around...
